Plow Day Rules and Courtesy Guide

Tractors must be John Deere, with all hoods and safety guards in place, although any make of plow may be used. Equipment need not be restored, but must run well and be in good safe working order. Engines must not run faster than factory specifications.

  • Operators must be official members of the Northeast Ohio Two Cylinder Club and must be at least 17 years of age.

  • Plow only in designated areas and follow all instructions of the directors

  • Maintain 7oft interval while plowing and be alert for groundhog holes and large rocks.

  • If you see someone having trouble with a plow or a tractor, stop and lend a hand.

  • Do not use road gear unless mvoing between fields on a paved road.

  • To comply with Ohio State Law, your tractor must be equipped with a regulation slow moving vehicle (SMV) sign while moving on a public road.

  • No riders or horseplay are permitted. Park only in designated areas, not on lawns, hay fields, etc.

  • Unsafe operations, abusive language, use of alcohol or drugs, or smoking in farm buildings, will be cause for expulsion from property.

  • Be sure your fuel system is not leaking, your breaks and clutch are working properly, your wheels and drawbar are properly set, the hydraulic system is OK, the operator's platform is clear, and your tires are properly inflated for plowing.

  • Wear heavy shoes and no loose clothing to get caught in machinery. Be familiar with both your tractor and plow. Read the manual. Bring your own tools, supplies, and fuel.

  • Neither NEOTCC nor the host is responsible for lost tools or parts, personal injuries, accidents, or equipment failures.

  • Kids are welcome but you are responsible for their safety.

  • Take your time

  • Be safe

  • Think about what you are doing.
